Turn Right? Turn Left?
What do you see?
Do you see the girl turning clockwise? or anti clockwise?
Answers:
A) Anti-clockwise.
B) Clockwise.
C) It becomes clockwise from anti clockwise after a while, but mostly anti-clockwise.
D) It becomes anti-clockwise from clockwise after a while, but mostly clockwise.
E) It varies from time to time, sometimes clockwise, sometimes anti-clockwise.
F) I could control it clockwise or anti-clockwise.
What’s your answer?
Explanations:
In fact, every one of us sees things very differently.
For those who see the girl turns in clockwise, they use their right brains more.
For those who see the girl turns in anti-clockwise, they use their left brains more.
For those who see the girls turns in anti-clockwise, but change to clockwise suddenly, their IQs are normally higher than 160 ! (oh?! I am one of those?! Haha!)
It seems that this little test could reveal whether we use our left brains or right brains more frequently. For most people, the left brain controls the languages, logic and mathematics, while the right brain controls the emotions, colours, sounds and abstract images.
The existing education systems all over the world focus on the “left brain” training too heavily and have ignored the “right brain” developments. For the right brain developments, most people believe that come from “talent”. We just seldom notice that it is the education system which has created such results.
Nowadays, more and more studies have drawn and called for our attention to the importance of “right brain” developments. More training in the art appreciation, creative thinking and emotional balance has been used to supplement the traditional language, mathematic and knowledge based education system.
A more balanced thinking approach, resulting in a more balanced society, would be a blessing for us all.

I have concentrated on the gif for a while, but I only found it turn in clockwise direction. I dun find any hints on how it can been found turning in anti-clockwise direction.
I feel quite surprise that the existing education system do no effect on me !!!!!
Anyway, I dun believe u have IQ higher than 160, as from a Japanese comic, even the most famous detective, he has an IQ of 180 only. HA~
I’m bedazzled by the gif! I can’t think right =(. Did you make that animation? I believe it is anti-clockwise.
I only saw clockwise motion…
she’s naked, i am not mindful where she turns. lol ^_^
I see her turn clockwise for awhile then if I look away and back she goes anti-clockwise. Very Cool.
She starts out turning clockwise for me…but I can make her change directions almost at will. Just takes a couple seconds.
first it looks clockwise, and just after you stare at the shadow it will invert.
I am completely stumped as to how anyone can perceive the girls as turning counterclockwise. It’s just basic geometry that dictates that she HAS TO BE turning clockwise. It’s not a matter of opinion. If you see it otherwise, you have a problem with your eyesight or spatial perception.
I’m really really smart. Oh, I’m so smart.
I see they went into amazing detail to put nipples on the woman…
It’s really crazy when 2 or 3 people are looking at her and they all see it different, when it’s the same girl!
What does it mean if she gets stuck?(wobbling from clockwise to counter-clockwise)
I’ve stumble onto this several times. When I first see it, it will start CCW, then switch to CW. I can’t change it back, but then after a few days, when I stumble onto it again, it will start CCW then switch to CW.

I hope you’re just trolling, because there’s really no reason to get so worked up over an optical illusion.
It’s not someone’s “opinion” as to which way they see the girl twirling.
The illusion is made in such a way that it can literally be interpreted as spinning in either, and there’s not really any easy trick to it. It takes a lot of concentration to see it a different way that you initially saw it.
It becomes a lot easier though when you realize that it really is an optical illusion, and that i can be seen spinning either way. If you think someone’s pulling your leg and that it can’t possibly be turning any other way than the way you see it, it’s really hard to look at it any differently that you started.
either way you want…..try this a few times, it’ll work - focus on the shadow underneath her, then slowly raise your eyes up her leg and she will change direction! If you cant see this you have a problem with your eyesight and/or your spatial perception
I’ve seen this in a couple of places on the ‘net before but neither of them mentioned anything about it indicating that a person’s IQ is above 160. Left brain or right brain I can understand, but IQ? You’re having us on, right? Can you provide evidence to back that claim up?
renumeratedfrog, basic geometry, Yes. But is she spinning on her left foot or her right foot? If you don’t understand what I mean, get out of your chair, stand up and try it for yourself. Basic geometry dictates that she spin clockwise if its her left foot, and anticlockwise if its her right foot.
Anticlockwise (though I thought as a left-hander I would use my right brain more.
From just seeing clockwise, I have trained myself to see both ways by looking just at the foot- if I tell myself it is her left foot she goes clockwise- her right foot she goes anticlockwise.
I doubt the IQ claim though
Steve
I see it anti clockwise, i can’t understand if it ever turns clockwise… may be every one’s understanding of clock and anti clock is making the different comments…
I can’t say anything… am just confused
that is most definately turning counter-clockwise. i’m impressed
Try changing what you are thinking about while looking at her. Think about a math problem, accually solve it. Then think about a beautiful women or art. I found that it can change right before your eyes. But i def. dont have an iq of over 160, more like 120
I can control it. And I know the secret…
if you scroll your browser down enough so that you can only see the one foot that is straight down and the shadow, it will appear to change directions… when you scroll back it, you will percieve that it has changed directions.
Once you get that down, you don’t need to scroll… just concentrate on the foot and nothing else… I’ve done it several times just to make sure that I’m right about this.
and the geometry/spacial perception guy… seriously, Devil’s pitchfork, that’s geometry and spacial perception. It’s the MIND that plays tricks on you, not your eyes.
she goes clockwise for awhile then counterclockwise, btw the girl is never turning all the way around she goes right 180 degrees then left a 180 degrees.
I saw the girl spin counter clockwise. But if I move my eyes just slightly off center from the figure, she starts to turn clockwise. Then again sometimes she just starts to turn clockwise. In any event, she is definitely turning clockwise and I know my IQ is well below 160.
Correction: she is definitely counter clockwise and I know my IQ is well below 160
Actually i believe that she turns anti-clockwise by observing the shadow on the floor. The location of the shadow meant that the light is shining from behind her (the light source is between the observer and the girl). The only time that the shadow of the extended feet can be seen is when it travels from right to left. This is only true if the girl is spinning anti-clockwise and cannot be true if she is spinning clockwise.
whether you see her moving clockwise or counter-clockwise, stare at the foot that she is standing on. try to manipulate your mind. if you see her going clockwise, concentrate on making her base foot go counter-clockwise and vice versa. maybe it’ll help for you guys so we can all have 160+ IQs.
I was able to control it before seeing the trick…which my way is different.
After reading how the brain works and the fact that the left side (more logical side) controls the counterclockwise, so i just thought about something intently (spnasih for example) and she went cunter clockwise,
so I forced my mind to go completely blank and sure enough she was going clockwise, which is seriously pretty awesome!!!
Dear all,
Thanks for the comments and messages. It’s interesting that we all look at things quite differently!
For the 160 + IQ thing, I think we don’t need to be too serious about it and I treat it as a small joke myself.
Anyway, this is an interesting test to share with you all.
: )
Here is a hint, focus on her heels and then make yourself see her the other way.
I see her anti clockwise and clockwise
Btw give credit where its due: http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22535838-5012895,00.html
I see both anti clockwise and clockwise but mostly anti-clockwise. This is amazing! At first I saw she anti-clockwise and she suddenly became clockwise! Interesting…very interesting.
[…] Turn Left, Turn Right? […]
I looked at the figure and can imagine a clockwise movement but when I see the shadow below her then she immediately turns anti clockwise. This is because I am now basing it on the shadow below her with reference to the girl spinning above.
when i first went on this site, and i was looking at the girl out of the corner of my eyes, she was spinning both ways, then i looked at her straight on and she was only spinning clockwise so i was confused, i found that if i looked at her really relaxed she would spin anti clockwise but then if i thought about it, she hanged back to clockwise
this is amazing.. I see anti clockwise. Only when i concentrate hard enough, it changed to closewise.. ho ho i see both!
lol.
it started out anti-clockwise then clockwise after awhile.
but then after that i can make it change to clockwise or anti-clockwise or anyway i want.
well, i think its not about 160 IQ or whatever.
cheers!
i dunno.
well if thats right that means i have more than 160 then.
for me, if she’s turning clockwise, after glancing at her reflection, she suddenly changes direction.
When I first look at the girl she turns CW, then a few seconds later she turns CCW, then a few more seconds later she turns back. Maybe I’m more of an artistic emotional person, but when I try to make her go the other way and realize she won’t just ’cause I will it so that’s logical so she goes the other way.
I love the comment that it CAN ONLY BE CLOCKWISE because that is just basic geometry and NOT a matter of opinion. Spoken like a true left-brian, black and white thinker. I can see it go both ways and change her direction at will.
You really think reality is what you SEE? Reality is something we will never know in total, because we are little creatures with limited senses and limited minds. Some more limited than others, however.
Ken
she turns clockwise from the top
anti-clockwise from below
perhaps, in the light she’ll turn me on.
Strange.. I’m pretty sure she’s turning anti-clockwise at the moment, although for a moment it turned clockwise. XD
