The like attracts the like

Some days ago, Armand wrote about:
“… I was telling you that the whole universe is made of energy. Everything is energy in different frequencies.
Your thoughts, emotions, feelings all are energies ……
Your thoughts are energies and you are the master of your own thoughts. Some thoughts come as a result of interactions with other energy fields, but it is you who create your thoughts and it is you, who control them.
Now if we take into consideration the fact that like energy attracted like energy, the implications are enormous……”
It has taken me several days to re-think about this concept and logic.
Thanks Armand for your sharing, which helps me to review the basic concept of “new age”, i.e. we select the lessons to be learnt in “this life”, we design the energies we have or we don’t have in this life in order to learn those lessons we selected, we write our own scripts, we even choose our own parents and select our own birth days, etc.
Our lives could be prescribed as the flow of energies. ”Like energies attracks like energies”, ”like thoughts attract like thoughts”, and here forms the basis of “self fulfilling prophecy”.
Don’t under estimate the power of our thoughts. What we think, what we believe, would eventually come true. We think we are poor, we think we are unlucky, we think we are miserable, we eventually should become poor, unlucky and miserable. We think we are not good enough, we are incapable, we are not worthy, then we become so. We think we are not beloved, then we have no love. These negative thoughts would do us no good but to make us negative.
We are our own director, we are our own architecture, we paint our own lives. Take up the responsibilities now and stop blaming like:
- I should certainly be more successful, but it was the overall environment that I cant achieve more.
- The university life wasted all my time, I gained nothing from it.
- I don’t like my work, it’s a waste of my life.
- My life is so poor, everybody I love, they left me.
The actual cause is ourselves. It is us who don’t believe ourselves and don’t work hard for success; it is us who don’t make sense from anything; it is us who drive our beloved ones away.
It is not fate, it is how we think and the thinking comes true. Self fulfilling prophecy, it is what we have to learn and understand. Start thinking positive and believing ourselves today and we would notice for a change in our lives.

This sounds like the law of attraction but minus the fantasy of what we think will come true without hard work.
Being positive + hard work is definitely a must to become successful.
Yes never underestimate the power of our thoughts and the images we create in our minds. It will greatly influence the present and future.
David hit the nail on the head and stole my thunder.
I’ve given this subject a little bit of thought lately and I’ve come to the conclusion that things aren’t so simple as “dream about it and it will happen”. Meaning that *you* thinking about the circumstances you want to attract is not a guarantee that they will appear.
That is because we are the creation of a *conscious* mind (God, Source, or whatever you want to call it) that might (just *might*) test us from time to time. And that is an element which we can’t control. Another conscious mind, infinite, above our own.
The good thing is that this mind DOES have “best interests” for us all, meaning that everything that comes to us is meant to help us grow.
Our thoughts clothe themselves in material form only if this higher consciousness allows it.
Nice post.
Reminds me of Abraham-Hicks.
See you around.
Dear David,
Thanks for your sharing! How right you have pointed out the crucial elements to success. : )
Dear Thira,
Yes, our thinking is powerful, since it creates the energy in us and around like and it attracts similar energies as well.
Dear Jon,
Welcome and nice to see you around!
Dear Armand,
Yes, there is the “consious mind” working in the mechanism. The consious mind is actually ourselves, and it is ourselves who put the challenges and tests among us, for us to learn and get close to awakening.
I am not sure whether this is true, but I do believe it. : )
Dear Arik,
Thanks so much for your sharing! I love the website you have quoted. Do come by more and share more! : )
Umm… I’m not sure that I completely agree to your idea.
“The consious mind is actually ourselves”
We are indeed conscious minds, but we must assume the presence of a higher conscious mind. Why? Because otherwise the universe wouldn’t exist and we wouldn’t exist.
No universe can exist without a conscious mind entering it. How could our universe come to be without a conscious mind entering it? And if this universe wouldn’t exist, then we wouldn’t exist, so how could something that doesn’t exist (us) create something (the universe)?
We’re just a part of a bigger ecuation. We are indeed constantly testing ourselves and creating challenges for us and for others, but my idea is that this testing is also done by the conscious mind that has created us in the first place.
Everything that you look at is created. The keyboard that you’re using, the blogging software, the mobile phone, the light bulb, etc. Nothing can take place without the existence of a creative mind behind it.
Anyhow, what I was trying to emphasize in the previous comment is the fact that *we can* use our minds to create everything that we like *only* if the mind that created the universe - and us - allows it. The law of attraction exists, but it isn’t absolute.
To make it easier to comprehend, here’s a simple example. The internet allows you to freely access any webpage from around the world. But that is only possible if your internet service provider allows you to do so (pages can be blacklisted, restricted).
We can compare the internet to the universe, and the users surfing the internet to the humans walking the earth. An internet user can access a certain resource on the net only if the higher presences involved allow it - that is in spite of the fact that the internet is supposed to be free. The same is with the universe and the law of attraction; we attract the energy that we think about only if the higher mind that created this whole “dance” allows it. And most of the time it does.
PS: I hope this makes sense; I have many ideas speeding through my mind at the moment and it’s kinda difficult to clearly explain this.

Dear Armand,
Thanks for your sharing. I do believe that there is “the one”, and we are part of it.
